Synopsis for Original Title

Past Imperative. At the start of World War I, Edward Exeter is charged with killing a school chum, while crippled Eleal Singer is being held hostage in a parallel world. Exeter and Singer are both part of a prophecy, the Filoby Testament. Edward crosses over to the other world but must betray Eleal in order to return.
